The 6-day Trainer Intern Academy Level I was conducted by Pat Miller, author of The Power of Positive Dog Training, training editor of The Whole Dog Journal and past President of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. This intensive course covered the science of behaviour and how dogs learn, basic pet dog training and behaviour modification. A shelter dog was assigned to each student and was trained to be a well-mannered dog at the end of 6 days, making them more adoptable and increasing their chances of finding a home.
