Hwee Li began training
dogs in 1998.
With a keen interest in the sport
of dog training and the science of how dogs learn,
she
has since gone on to learn more about dog behaviour and
training, including alternative training methods such as
clicker training.
Hwee Li was
trained as a dog training instructor and behaviour counselor in the United States
and Australia.
She has a Certificate IV in Dog Behavioural Training (Canine Good CitizenTM)
awarded by Delta Society Australia.
She
is also a graduate of Pat Miller's Peaceable Paws Trainer
Intern Academy and the San Francisco SPCA Academy for
Dog Trainers under Jean Donaldson and Janis Bradley.
She has attended seminars conducted
by leading positive dog trainers including Ian Dunbar and Terry Ryan.
A believer in positive reinforcement
training, Hwee Li would like to
promote gentle and fun pet dog training in Singapore, so as to
build a relationship between dog and owner based on mutual trust and
respect, and at the same time develop the dog into a friendly and
well-behaved one that is easy and fun to live with and readily
accepted by the society.
Hwee Li is an
accredited CGCTM instructor certified by
Delta
Society Australia, the very first outside of Australia.
She is also a
certified counselor by San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog
Trainers.
Certified by
Hwee Li is
also slave to a pack of animals including 5 dogs and 1 cat -
Dino, Zuiko, Leica, Brandee, Kennie and Meow Meow, and a foster white Boxer called Belly.
Meow Meow has left us in October 2004; Belly has gone to a
good home in Johor Bahru, Malaysia in October 2004.
